Longtime shoe designer and footwear instructor Getúlio Luiz always begins his renderings using “simple lines” to create a foundation. With more than 10 years in the footwear industry, Brazilian based designer is largely influenced by the dichotomy between contemporary youth culture and tradition.
Not a single one of Luiz’s designs are the same; each rendered shoe stands strikingly on its own while still maintaining the artist’s signature usage of parallel lines that is layered throughout the design process. Luiz draws inspiration from urban and street styles, contemporary culture, and legendary caricatures that pushes the limits of contemporary footwear.

The Designer Getúlio Luiz
Since 2006, Brazilian-based shoe designer Getúlio Luiz has more than ten years of experience in shoe design and eight years teaching shoewear fashion. With his professional experience and passion for footwear and product design, Luiz hopes to launch his own sneaker brand starting with the Gett.
Drawing inspiration from traditional and contemporary urban Japanese culture, the Gettysburg is the merging of the past with the youth of today. With comfort and practicality at the forefront, Project Gett brings together the concept and ideals that make up the Japanese culture.
Using spray technology on the Vibram outsole gives the Gett its distinctive look of visual pop and secure heel grip.
A velvety and luxurious suede with ridges along the top gives it an overall contrasting effect against the buffed and textured leather.
