A graduate of Virgina Tech in industrial design, Waharaka's passion in creating using his bare hands started as an adolenscent that eventually carried over to sketching shoes. Soon after, creating and designing models became his forte. His main motivating factor are the endless possibilities with footwear development and design, and is what draws him further into the footwear field. Waharaka views designing shoes as an outlet for creative expression and exciting challenge, and hopes to start a career within the footwear industry, possibly starting with his own brand.
